Republic of Imagination is a UK-based, Creative Director-led AI production studio making advertising and branded content for TV, social, digital, retail media and DOOH.
We combine human ideas, taste and creative direction with generative AI production to make work that looks and feels properly made. Not AI for AI's sake. Not endless content sludge. Just a different way to make ambitious creative work.
We work directly with brands and alongside agencies, from the first idea through to finished film. That might mean one hero commercial, an entire social series, or a creative system capable of producing multiple assets, formats and variations.
Republic of Imagination was founded by Julie Seal, a Creative Director and strategist with more than 25 years' experience in advertising and technology.
Julie spent seven and a half years at Meta's Creative Shop, working with brands and agencies on creative strategy, social and emerging technology. Before Meta, she worked at agencies including Mother, R/GA and FCB. She's a Cannes Lions winner and D&AD and Creative Circle judge, and writes regularly for The Drum about AI, creativity, advertising and the industry.
RoI works with a collective of specialist AI filmmakers, directors, animators, illustrators, makers and production talent, assembled around each brief rather than maintaining a traditional agency production department.
Republic of Imagination brings together top advertising industry Creative Directors with specialist AI filmmakers, directors, animators and makers, building the right team around every brief.
Our collective has decades of experience creating award-winning work for major global brands and leading agencies, combining senior creative direction with specialist AI production and traditional craft.
No bloated permanent production department. No one-size-fits-all roster. Just the right creative and production talent for the job.
Senior creative brains. Specialist AI talent. Built differently for every brief.
AI has made it possible to produce things that would previously have required enormous budgets, crews or sometimes couldn't have been made at all.
It hasn't made knowing what's worth making any easier.
That's where we come in.
We think the interesting future of AI production isn't replacing creativity with technology. It's putting extraordinary new production tools into the hands of people who understand ideas, storytelling, brands, culture and craft.
AI can generate. People still have to imagine.
